In January 1972 the International Shorinji Kempo Federation (ISKF) 国際少林寺拳法連盟 (Kokusai Shōrinji Kempō Renmei) was established y the countries USA, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sweden, Philipines, Iran and Japan. In 1974 the member countries had increasesto 16 countries and the ISKF was reformad to form the World Shorinji Kempo Organization (WSKO) or as it is called in Japanese, Shōrinji Kempō Sekai Rengō 少林寺拳法世界連合.

WSKO also regularly holds deifferent kōshūkai (seminars) internationally.

Today WSKO have 34 member countries and is lead by So Yuuki who is kaichō (president) and Arai Tsunehiro who is rijichō (board chairperson). A complete list of all member countries and their branches can be found here on the WSKO home page.
